Why We Care NFP SNAP Response

Emergency Food Support for Families Affected by SNAP Delays

Although the federal government has decided to release partial SNAP benefits, more than 41 million Americans — including over 900,000 families in Cook County — need food assistance right now. The Illinois Department of Human Resources has stated that it may take weeks or even months for recipients to receive their benefits.

We cannot sit idly by and watch children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities go hungry during the holiday season. Why We Care NFP is stepping up to provide direct food resources and support to families in need during this critical time.
