Our Services

Why We Care NFP is dedicated to uplifting low to moderate income communities by providing essential resources, support, and programs that promote stability and empowerment. Through initiatives such as food drives, clothing and personal care giveaways, workforce development, and small business support, we strive to bridge gaps in access to basic needs, education, and economic opportunities. Our mission is to foster community well-being, reduce hardship, and create pathways to success for individuals and families in need.

Evolve Entrepreneurial Program

The Evolve Entrepreneurial Program is a transformative initiative designed to promote financial stability, entrepreneurship, and personal empowerment for women and youth from diverse backgrounds. Through expert-led workshops, hands-on learning, and mentorship, participants explore key pillars of economic success, including financial literacy, starting and sustaining a business, building generational wealth, housing decision-making, and prioritizing wellness and self-care. The program provides practical tools, peer support, and real-world guidance to help participants gain confidence, make informed financial decisions, and take control of their futures. Rooted in the belief that access to knowledge and resources creates opportunity, Evolve empowers participants to become stronger leaders for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Workforce Development

Why We Care NFP is committed to workforce development by helping individuals strengthen job skills, explore career pathways, and gain access to employment opportunities that support financial independence and personal growth. Through our partnership with Detroit based company SELOC, which focuses on clean energy career pathways for in school youth, particularly in underserved communities, we advance our shared goal of creating sustainable and equitable economic opportunities. SELOC’s emphasis on technical training, credential attainment, and wraparound services reflects a thoughtful and inclusive approach to workforce development. As an emissions reduction company, SELOC converts internal combustion engine vehicles, including school buses, cars, delivery vehicles, and marine vessels, into electric vehicles while simultaneously building a skilled local workforce.

Adopt-A-
Community

The Adopt a Community program supports a different low-income, underserved community each year. We closely with residents, community leaders, and partner organizations to address the community’s most pressing needs by providing access to essential items, resources, and support services. This program is guided by relationship-building and sustained impact, ensuring residents receive ongoing care, not just one-time aid. A key highlight of the program is the annual Christmas in July Health and Resource Festival, held each July, which brings together health services, educational tools, and family-friendly activities. The festival serves as a powerful way to unite community members, provide essential needs, and create a day of joy and fun activities for children, promoting connection, wellness, and hope for the future.
